One of the best tips I can give you early in Manor Lords is to understand the difficulty of the game. The game currently provides three scenarios with three different prerequisites. These are:

I suggest you choose Rise to Prosperity to enjoy city building and understand the game. Once you understand the game, choose the following two maps. Consider choosing the three scenario maps if you don't want to tinker with the robust difficulty selection.
