Top 7 Best Linux Laptops 2024

There aren't many Linux laptop manufacturers out there, but the ones that are already there do an excellent job with the hardware selection. This list includes notebooks from the likes of System76, KDE, Star Labs, and others.

Dell and Lenovo have been major players in the Linux laptop market for quite some time now. Dell's latest version, the XPS 13 Plus, is a 13-inch laptop and has a Developer Edition. Dell has partnered with Canonical to ship Ubuntu on it, and it's one of the most premium Linux laptops you can buy on the market as of this writing. For those unaware, the XPS 13 Plus features 12th generation Intel processors and is a fantastic machine. But the $1500 price tag could be a dealbreaker for many.

As of this writing, the Developer Edition is not sold in the US, but in Canada and some parts of Europe. The standard XPS 13 Plus has received a significant price cut recently, selling for $999 which is a decent deal. You can always delete Windows, install a new Linux distro of your choice, and you don't have to be shackled to just Ubuntu in the developer edition. Not that you can't delete Ubuntu on the Developer Edition, but it would be way too expensive to buy it just to delete it at the end of the day.
