The modern era of the Star Wars franchise has been pretty mediocre, to say the least as most of the offerings have been underwhelming for fans. The theatrical trilogy that began with The Force Awakens was very divisive and fans didn't have to settle for the choices made with their beloved characters from the original trilogy.
Aside from The Mandalorian and Andor, the Disney+ Star Wars shows have failed to revive the franchise. Its latest offering The Acolyte further lowered fan expectations from the once-beloved IP. But all that could change with the upcoming Skeleton Crew series as fans are impressed with its first trailer.
It's been a while since Star Wars released a theatrical film since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker. Lucasfilm has been heavily focused on its live-action shows since The Mandalorian but most of them have been frustratingly underwhelming. Acolyte was a recent disappointment that criminally wasted the amazing potential it had.
