Cybersecurity firm Resecurity has suggested that a threat actor "pwn0001" offered to leak information about 815 million people on hacking forums. This includes details such as names, phone numbers, addresses, passport details, age, gender and more.
It is also revealed that the threat actor offered the data in exchange for $80,000 (~Rs 66,59,888). The company's HUNTER analysts even verified the details of the leaked Aadhaar cards, which were proved valid. It is still unknown how the bad actor gained access to this huge amount of people's data. That said, it is suggested that this could possibly be leaked via the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) database.
