Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball stands tall as one of the most famous and commercially successful anime series of all time, featuring the most recognized protagonist of all time, Son-Goku. The Shonen series has set the bar high for other shows. Over the years, the popularity of the franchise has skyrocketed with other successful works such as video games, action figures, merchandise and several films.
However, the 2009 live-action film, Dragon Ball Evolution, remains the franchise's biggest failure. The adaptation featured iconic characters such as Goku, Bulma, Master Roshi, Chi-Chi, Piccolo and many more.
The film was riddled with problems, including a weak plot full of plot holes. But the biggest flaw in the work was how terrible the casting was. Surprisingly, fans have forgotten the disappointment as they are now fancasting the perfect actors to play Toriyama-Sensei's characters.
