The Star Wars universe is populated by several species, with the Ewoks being one of the most popular from the galaxy far, far away. The species was first introduced in 1983's Return of the Jedi and worked with the Rebels to defeat the Empire. But the film hints that there is a darker side to the adorably primitive race of aliens.
In some supplementary media from the franchise created by George Lucas, the Ewoks have been revealed to be carnivores. But the alien species is also implied to have an interest in eating humans. As a result, some fans believe that the Ewoks are even scarier than the Sarlacc because of their dark side, which Lucas has never explicitly revealed.
The alien race of Ewoks first appeared in Return of the Jedi, the final installment in George Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy. In the film, the primitive species hunts for food when Luke, Leia and Han Solo fall into their trap. The Ewoks prepared to eat the humans as food before C-3PO intervenes and saves them.
