A new movie shows the Stormcast rallying against the Skaven

Games Workshop has debuted a new trailer teasing the fourth edition of Age of Sigmar, the fantasy game set in the ashes of Warhammer Fantasy Battles' Old World. The villains won and basically wiped out The Old World – but the divine Sigmar, along with a group of key characters, helped create new worlds where mortals could take refuge. This trailer shows a battle between Sigmar's chosen, the Stormcast Eternals, and heralds the return of fan favorite Skaven.

Skaven are so popular because although they are fearsome beasts that can tear people limb from limb, they are also silly little guys. The Skaven are inventors who constantly blow themselves up, and they link their potent technology with swarms of minions. A Skaven-like beast even appeared in the Warhammer 40,000 Necromunda game, so fans of evil rats are celebrating right now.

Although they are funny little devils, they are also a huge threat to the environment and must not be underestimated. The scourge is a major reason for the fall of the former world, which saw the Great Horned Rat rise to become the fifth Chaos God. That's an unprecedented level of success for any faction – let alone one made up of angry, gnawing, evil rats. Their hidden realm, the Gnaw, has now exploded outward into Aqshy's mortal realm, and the Skaven have gone from hiding in sewers and barrels to operating in the open.
