As announced during the recently concluded IMC 2022 event, Airtel 5G Plus is now live in India. This currently applies to 8 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri and Nagpur. Here are the details.

This means that Airtel users in the above mentioned 8 cities will now be able to use 5G services on their 5G enabled phones, starting today. This will be a gradual rollout, so if you don't see the 5G option, don't worry! You will eventually start using it as the launch expands.
As revealed earlier, there will be no need to use a standalone 5G SIM, and the existing 4G SIM will work. Additionally, you'll be able to enjoy up to 30 times faster internet on your existing data plans "until the rollout is complete." We may see some price changes after this and more information should come out in the future.
Airtel 5G Plus will use the 5G technology which has the "widest ecosystem in the world", which is the NSA structure. Jio, on the other hand, is using the SA structure for its True 5G.
