Amazon's Echo product line started with the launch of their first Alexa-powered smart speaker called "Echo", back in 2015. It was then followed by the Echo Dot which was a miniature version of the smart speaker and the Echo Show which was a touchscreen smart speaker. However, the original Echo speaker was overdue for an upgrade and much to our surprise, at a press event held by Amazon yesterday, they not only released an upgraded Echo speaker but also accompanied it with a bunch of other smart home devices, all powered by Alexa.

Amazon Echo Spot – Complete Beginner's Guide

These include the Echo Plus, New Echo, Echo Spot, Echo Buttons and the all-new Fire TV. Of all the products, my favorite is the Echo Spot which is a smart touch screen alarm clock. With so many Echo products to choose from now, customers are debating the need for one over the other. So, to make it easier for our readers, in this article we'll cover the new Echo Spot and answer all your frequently asked questions, helping you learn a little more about the device.

As I mentioned above, in its simplest form, the all-new Echo Spot is an alarm clock with a built-in multi-touch screen. But we all know it's much more than that. Echo Spot is also a smart home device powered by Alexa. But it also differs from the Echo speaker in many ways. First, it has a touch screen. Think of the Echo Spot as a mix of the Echo Dot and the Echo Show. It's small, has a touch screen and does a lot more than you'd expect for its size.

The best thing about this Amazon press event was that none of its products were priced above a reasonable $150. While the Echo Spot may be the cheapest of the bunch, it's also not the most expensive and will set you back $129.99.
