Back in May 2023, the Central Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to withdraw Rs 2,000 from the Indian economy. According to the RBI, the introduction was to make "currencies in other denominations" available in sufficient quantity. Now, since that goal has been fulfilled, Rs 2,000 notes have outlived their purpose. Amazon now lets you simply give your Rs 2,000 note to the Amazon delivery agent for your next cash on delivery order. This allows the delivery partner to instantly "load cash directly into your Amazon Pay Wallet" right outside your door. Amazon calls this the Cash Load at Doorstep Service.

Since the amount is deposited directly into your Amazon Pay wallet, you don't need a bank account. You will be able to make bill payments, pay with Amazon, use the balance for top-up and much more with a simple one-click process. However, remember that you can deposit up to Rs 50,000 to your Amazon Pay wallet every month. This also includes Rs 2,000 notes.
