AMD has finally unveiled its new Ryzen 7000 series processors based on the Zen 4 architecture that gamers and power users have been waiting for all year. As we expected, this reveal has shown us that this year's processors are a complete overhaul, as they use the all-new AM5 Socket. This change will not only bring huge performance and efficiency improvements, but also ground-breaking connectivity features such as support for new DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 technology.

The new Ryzen 7000 processor series that was unveiled currently consists of four processors and is ready to go on sale from September 27th. Starting at the top, we have the Ryzen 9 7950X which retails for $699 and comes with a 16-core/32-thread configuration with a very high clock speed of 5.7GHz.

Next up is the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X which has a 12-core/24-thread configuration at 5.6GHz for $550. Then we have the Ryzen 7 7700X for $400, as the 8-core option with clock speeds up to 5.4 GHz, followed by the most affordable model at the moment, the Ryzen 5 7600X for $300 which has 6 cores, 12 threads and a 5 .3 GHz boost frequency.

The new Ryzen 7000 series processors are also based on a brand new 5nm process technology, making them the first mainstream desktop chip to be manufactured on this process node. This AMD has claimed has led to an impressive performance upgrade of up to 48% in some benchmarks and 13% improvement when it comes to instructions per clock (IPC).
