Most metals are considered to be good conductors of electrical current. Copper is just one of the more popular materials that is used for conductors. Honey is a poor conductor because it is made largely of sugars called fructose and glucose and some water. Conductors of electricity need mobile electrons or ions to carry the charge and sugars do not have either one. So due to presence of water and lactic acid in milk, it is good conductor of electricity.

Earth is a good conductor. The electrons are attracted to the sphere known as ground wire as it supplies a conducting path to the ground. The parts of the earth where there is no moisture acts as an insulator. The parts of the earth where there is moisture acts as a good conductor.
