Discovered by the Mandarin in China’s “Valley of Spirits,” the Ten Rings of Power are actually the product of the dragon-like race Axonn-Karr (or Makluans) from the planet Maklu-IV. Over the years, the Mandarin’s mind has actually come to inhabit the rings so that now no one else can make use of them.

The Makluan Rings are rings of immeasurable power worn by the Mandarin, an ancient Chinese ruler of myth. Originally, the Chinese thought the rings were magic, but Howard Stark believed them to be an ancient technology so advanced that it would be indistinguishable from magic.

When Rhodey in his War Machine armor showed up, he learned that Tony was Iron Man. Gene eventually passed the test by allowing Fin Fang Foom to swallow himself when he saved Pepper. It was during the battle Tony learned that Mandarin was behind the explosion of their plane and that his father is still alive somewhere.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will finally, properly, introduce the Mandarin into the MCU, after the villain was first uncovered as a drunken actor-for-hire in Iron Man 3.

Probably not, but it depends. Normal Shang Chi is a master of kung fu. If black panther had his powers taken away, Shang Chi would wipe the floor with him. With powers, Black Panther is just too strong and with the suit he can’t be touched by Kung Fu.
