Avoid Astel's grasp at all costs

Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, is one of the hardest-hitting bosses in the Fire Ring, thanks to its annoying teleports and near-predator nature. Astel is an optional boss, but it gives you a memory and allows you to progress in Ranni's questline.

In this boss guide, we'll tell you how to get to Astel, how to potentially cheese your way through the fight, and how to avoid Astel's attacks.

Astel is in a separate area south of Rotsjön, but to reach that area you have to take a chest for a ride down a waterfall. To reach the chest, travel to the Grand Cloister Grace in the Lake of Rot and cross the ledges to the ground level. You come here as part of developing Ranni's questline.
