The Asus Zenfone series offers pretty much one of the best compact phones in the modern smartphone world. Their ROG Line is also popular with mobile gamers with the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate being one of the most over-the-top smartphones out there. Many were surprised when recent rumors pointed to the possible discontinuation of the Zenfone series. But recently, Asus has officially responded to the rumor and confirmed its future plans for Zenfone's smartphone division.

Small phones are dead and we killed them

The earlier rumor, which sparked controversy that the Asus Zenfone series would be discontinued, came from Taiwanese media outlet TechNews. This was then widely covered by various media fraternities worldwide. At the time of writing, on August 29th, Asus responded to the rumors by publishing an official statement in their newsroom.

It is revealed that Asus has a "strong commitment" to its smartphone business.
