When given enough time for a project, it can turn out to be a gem. Battlefield 2042 could potentially have been that gem.

How to show fps counter on Battlefield 2042 (EA and Origin Method)

People were waiting for a great game after Battlefield V failed to capture the attention of fans as many of the video games in the series have. Success is often a result of correct thinking about something. That certainly wasn't the case with the latest entry in the popular military shooter.

Users got their hands on the game in November 2021 with high hopes; they were let down of course. Its development reportedly began in August 2020. That gives us 15 months, which isn't quite enough considering how far video games have come.

Maybe Electronic Arts could have just let the game develop in hell for a longer time; they didn't have to use glue and tape to keep Battlefield 2042 in better shape. It has gotten better, but why does it matter? Fans are now pinning their hopes on the next match.
