Being a sci-fi RPG from Bethesda, Starfield is all about creating your character and setting out to explore the vastness of space. But before kick-starting your journey, the game requires you to choose a background and assign traits to your character. In classic Bethesda RPG fashion, Starfield lets you choose from several available traits. Starfield – Which Background and Traits Should You Choose?
As game director Todd Howard pointed out during the Starfield Deep Dive, the features in this game are the most flexible they've ever been in a Bethesda title. These options add unique positive and negative modifiers to your character, changing the way you experience the game.
The game allows you to choose a maximum of three traits. You have the option to choose your favorite traits or none, if that's how you want to play the game. Depending on your choice, your journey will differ slightly from another user in terms of exploration. However, remember that you cannot select some traits if you select some others.
For example, if you choose to be an introvert, you cannot (obviously) become an extrovert at the same time. Similarly, conforming to a particular religion does not allow you to choose others.
