US President Joe Biden has asked Congress to approve an additional $103 million in funding for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, bringing CISA's total budget to $3 billion.

Biden proposed his $7.3 trillion spending plan for fiscal year 2025 on Monday, which in addition to increasing CISA's funding, also provides $13 billion to improve cybersecurity between government departments and agencies.

While it's unlikely to go anywhere guaranteed in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, it's a good indication of the president's priorities as he seeks re-election to a second term.

"To protect against foreign adversaries and protect federal systems, the budget strengthens cybersecurity by ensuring that every agency increases the security of public services," according to the proposal [PDF].
