After a long silence, Black Myth: Wukong is finally making a grand comeback at Gamescom 2023 ONLY. The upcoming hack-n'-slash Soulsborne, featuring the mythical Wukong, was announced years ago with great fanfare. Unfortunately, developer Game Science has taken its sweet time with the game. And after a long development, they officially started releasing new game. With the developers showing off previews to Chinese influencers and media two days ago, the rest of the world is seeing the first official trailer on the stages of Gamescom ONL.
Black Myth: Wukong – Official Trailer | gamescom 2023
The trailer begins with a headless ghost sitting on a wall passionately playing music in a desolate desert. The game then shifts to a video of Wukong walking through three different locations. We see a place covered in snow, with petrified people stuck in a single place, a place in autumn and a desert place.
We also see a new look at what appear to be bosses in Black Myth: Wukong, most of whom are characters from Wukong's story. A tiger that drinks blood from a pool of blood, a rhinoceros that harnesses electricity to attack its enemies, a snake that spits venom and more. We also see a mythical enemy raining many bladed wings, with Wukong parrying them.
Actual gameplay showcases the usual soul-borne gaming features. Wukong can dodge incoming attacks with style and fight enemies skillfully. Wukong performs various moves throughout the trailer, hinting that he will come with the ability to perform various fighting styles. He can also block and parry incoming attacks, and enemies can dish out unblockable attacks.
