It's not every day we see games get the traffic they predict. Well, after a string of disappointments, a game is here to change the narrative. We're talking about none other than Black Myth: Wukong, an ARPG that became the most wish-listed game on Steam and has now topped it on the concurrent player list.

Black Myth: Wukong Destroys Palworld & Elden Ring's all-time Steam Peak player count

At the time of writing, Black Myth: Wukong has 1,437,241 concurrent players. This is not only the game's all-time high, but also the top four in Steam game history. With this number of players, Black Myth has beaten the all-time record holders Lost Ark (1,325,305), Dota 2 (1,295,114), Cyberpunk 2077 (1,054,388) and even Elden Ring (953,426).

That's no doubt a huge feat for a game that's been on the market for less than a day! Especially when the game follows Elden Ring's style, it's great to see the game surpass the inspiration by a margin. It only takes a few million for the game to reach the top of the list which is currently occupied by PUBG with a player count of 3,257,248.

However, this is not the first time games have debuted at such a high level. We have already seen Palworld destroy several records as early as 2024. Even so, it was slowly descending on CCU. Although Black Myth: Wukong is completely different in genre and play style, don't be shocked when the game starts to drop in player count.
