Seeing Barack Obama and Michelle Obama among the executive producers, Netflix's new comedy TV show, Bodkin, seems even more exciting. The story of Bodkin begins with Dove (Siobhan Cullen), a journalist who is asked to help podcaster Gilbert Power (Will Forte) find a story for his podcast. Emmy (Robin Cara) joins the duo as a researcher. Gilbert only had one hit podcast, so he wanted to look for a good story that could help him save his career. However, none of the three knew that the journey they embarked on could change their lives completely. It's certainly an interesting premise, but is the seven-episode TV series enough to leave a mark on viewers' hearts? Let's find out.

Bodkin Netflix Series Review

I must say that Bodkin has a really powerful story that can please any fan of this genre. The story seems straightforward at first. We see Gilbert, Emmy and Dove arrive in a beautiful Irish town, Bodkin. The place looks very pleasing to the eyes, as also pointed out by Gilbert several times in the TV series. But soon we realize that there are several mysteries hidden in the soil of the city.

The main trio begin their coverage with the disappearances that occurred during a massive festival 20 years ago. But as the story unfolds, we realize that it is a murder mystery that has remained unsolved all these years.

If you're someone who looks forward to seeing shows that find their footing in the very first episode, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Bodkin reveals his true nature slowly, and you won't feel any character development until you reach episode 4. For the most part, the main highlight of the show is the mystery surrounding the murders and not the main characters solving these cases.
