As the U.S. Justice Department continues to mull an antitrust investigation into Nvidia, many advocacy groups are urging the Fed to proceed.

DOJ and FTC plan antitrust probes into Nvidia, OpenAI and Microsoft

A letter [PDF] to Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter, written by representatives of ten nonprofit organizations, argues that Nvidia should be investigated for abusive monopolistic business practices because the GPU giant is "in a position to crowd out competitors and set global prices and terms of trade." "

In other words, Nv potentially has too much influence in the market and can use this position to crush rivals, to the detriment of buyers, choice and innovation.

Four of the signatory organizations—Demand Progress Education Fund, Blue Future, P Street, and the Revolving Door Project—focus on political advocacy on the left. Five of the organizations say they are focused on advancing antitrust action, with a particular focus on Big Tech; they are the Economic Security Project, the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, the NextGen Competition, the Open Markets Institute, and the Tech Oversight Project.
