Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on July 24.

Xbox Game Pass was a huge step for the gaming industry and seems to be heading in the right direction. Other major game developers took note of the path Microsoft took and incorporated the subscription service structure that paved the way for modern gaming for a much more convenient experience.

The gaming community was initially skeptical of this innovation and the negative effects it would bring to traditional gaming. Microsoft made it a priority to give its subscribers access to the countless games available on the service, and a major franchise could enhance the selection.

Xbox has always been the default platform for big third-party titles, especially massive first-person shooters. Microsoft was on an aggressive acquisition spree last year and Phil Spencer made it his mission to bring the Call of Duty franchise to Game Pass on day one.
