An alcoholic bender does not refer to one evening of intoxication. It refers to a drinking spree that is extended over at least two nights. But some definitions insist that in order to be a true bender, the drinking spree has to last at least three days. Why three days?

Fry and Bender maintain their mutual affection despite what would be seen as their mistreatment of one another, which ranges from name-calling to mutilation. Years later, Bender had Fry’s kidney removed while he was sleeping, planning to sell it.

According to Groening, Fox seemingly never really wanted Futurama to succeed. Futurama was canceled at Fox because the network spent years — essentially from before the show even hit television sets — walking it down the road to the chopping block. The Robot Fry and Leela confess their love for each other and leave the crew, including a confused Fry and Leela. Throughout season 6 the two share more moments together though seem to have an on/off relationship as Leela states in “That Darn Katz!” that she wishes she had a man.

In “Reincarnation”, Bender asks Fry if he has “tried gettin’ [Leela] pregnant” and Fry says that “[he’s] tried an’ tried, but, so far, [he] only got Amy pregnant”. After Fry gets sprayed with male butterfly pheromones, he becomes irresistible to Amy and Leela, due to the effects of the nectar has on them.

The initial beginnings of this relationship starts in “Love’s Labours Lost in Space”, where Leela, out of pity, sleeps with Zapp Brannigan. Zapp made Leela believe they were on another planet and that they were out of water so she accedes to make love.
