Fusion Monsters are Special Summon monsters, so they can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by effects like “Monster Reborn” only if they were Special Summoned by the correct procedure at one time, and then sent to the Graveyard.

Most Fusion Monsters need two Fusion Material monsters, and then the Polymerization card. However, certain Fusion Monsters can be summoned out of the Extra Deck via a process known as Contact Fusion, which requires no Polymerization.

Fusion Monsters are also placed in your Extra Deck at the start of the game. They are Summoned by using the specific monsters listed on the card, known as Fusion Material Monsters, combined with a Summoning card like “Polymerization” or another card that allows you to perform a fusion summon.

OCG Rulings When Fusion Summoning with “Polymerization”, you can use a monster which is face-down on the field as a Fusion Material monster. When doing so, you must show it to your opponent to confirm that it is a proper Fusion Material.

It’s important to remember that a monster Set on the field in face-down Defense Position IS NOT considered Summoned. It has been Set and can be Summoned with a Flip Summon or flipped face-up by an attack or card effect.

Just like Synchro Monsters, Xyz Monsters have their own type of Summon that you perform when you want to play them. Here’s how Xyz Summons work: When you control 2 face-up monsters with the same Level, put them on top of each other, then put the appropriate Xyz Monster on top of them. That’s an Xyz Summon!

Jinzo does neither. The reason Jinzo is restricted is because multiple-Jinzo decks would destroy the use of traps. Jinzo in ones doesn’t hurt much. Aside from that, there’s not good enough justification to ban him.

Xyz Monsters can be revived with cards like Monster Reborn and Call of the Haunted, just like any other monster, but if you do that, they don’t have any Xyz Materials attached to them and you can’t use their effects. Xyz Reborn changes all of that!

In most cases, “Xyz Pendulum Monsters” have a condition stating that they can then be Pendulum Summoned after a proper Xyz Summon should their Rank fall within your active Pendulum Scales, and also place themselves into a Pendulum Zone via an effect and serve as a Pendulum Scale themselves.

Pendulum Monster Cards Can’t Be Completely Destroyed Whenever a Pendulum Monster in one of your Monster Card Zones, or a Pendulum Spell Card in one of your Pendulum Zones would be sent to the Graveyard, no matter what the reason, it’s placed face-up in your Extra Deck instead of in the Graveyard.

Pendulum Summoning isn’t the overpowered technique that has ruined the game. While it does have some incredible perks that can drive players crazy, there are cards that are designed to counter it. Take a look at your deck and make a few adjustments.

Pendulum Monster Cards are a new kind of card that blurs the line between Monsters and Spells! They can be Summoned as monsters to attack or defend, or you can activate them as Spell Cards in your Pendulum Zones to activate extra special abilities and allow you to Pendulum Summon!

Konami banned both of these monsters in February of 2018. Astrograph Sorcerer is a level 7 Pendulum Monster with 2500 ATK/2000 DEF. Similar to Chronograph Sorcerer, its Pendulum effect allows it to destroy itself and either Special Summon or place a Stargazer Magician in the Pendulum Zone from the hand or deck.

Monsters that do not have Levels, such as Xyz Monsters and Link Monsters, cannot be used as Synchro Materials. Token Monsters and Trap Monsters can be used as Synchro Materials.
