BioWare’s latest Dragon Age: Inquisition gameplay stream takes a closer look at the PC version of the game, complete with a “keyboard cam” that highlights the advantages of playing with a mouse and keyboard. Naturally, there’s a good chunk of gameplay on show as well.

Keyboard

• W forward.
• S backward.
• A left.
• D right.
• G toggle run/walk.
• F1-F4 selects party members (single player only) note that in combat, this occasionally causes the game to unpause.
• Spacebar jumps.
• SHIFT sprints/gallops.

Right-clicking on an opponent causes the selected character(s) to attack that opponent using the current weapon set(s).

Unlike all their previous RPGs you cannot point and click to move your character around! You have to rely entirely on the keyboard to move your character!

Combat Roll is a warrior ability from the Battlemaster tree in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

How to Enable DAI Console Commands on EA Origin. In the Origin client, right-click Dragon Age: Inquisition and choose Game properties. Select the Advanced launch options tab. In the Command Line Arguments field, type -enabledeveloperconsole and click Save.

Combat happens in real time in Dragon Age: Origins, but it can be paused at any time by pressing the space bar. Also, there is an option to pause the game automatically when combat starts in Options > Game > Gameplay. While the game is paused you can assign actions to party members.

Mass Effect leans more towards shooters obviously, while DA leans more towards a strategic hack’n’slash. If you have played Dragon Age 2(most hate it but it’s a nice step forward in your case), that game made the battle gameplay more hack’n’slash.

Controls (Dragon Age II) Controls are the human interface (keyboard and mouse for PC, controller for console) methods by which players interact with the game and direct the party members. Note: Keybindings and mouse behavior can be changed in the options menu.

[Pressed simultaneously.] RT: Switch to secondary battle menu shortcuts. Click Left Stick: Locks the target. (As previously noted, doesn’t actually lock the target.) Click Right Stick: Centers the camera. Back: Manages character, quests, inventory, etc. The left analog stick moves the character.
