On July 12, 2021, the gates at the newly refurbished Whistlers Campground opened, welcoming back our fellow Canadian campers. It’s more important than ever for people to connect with nature and rediscover the outdoors after feeling the effects of pandemic isolation.

Wapiti Campground Along the river, there is a trail that leads all the way into the town of Jasper. The campground also operates a limited number of winter campsites that operate on a first-come-first-serve. The campsite has a massive 363 sites in the summer and 75 winter campsites.

A dump station is located at the main entrance, also free, and you can get drinking water there as well. There are no fresh water taps within the campground loops, so you’ll want to load up your RV before heading to your site.

The contents of the oTENTiks vary slightly between campgrounds but generally have dishes, dish towels, pots, pans and cutlery. The incredible views from the verandah of our rustic cabin in Fundy Park. Washrooms, (not outhouses) are nearby with flush toilets, hot water and showers.

All of Whistlers campground will closed in 2019 for reconstruction. The campgrounds in Jasper and Banff National Parks are quite popular so reservations should be made well in advance of your stay. We would stay here again. We camped at Whistlers Campground in a Motorhome.
