Triamcinolone dental paste is applied directly onto an ulcer inside the mouth and left in place. Do not swallow this medicine.

This medication is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash). Triamcinolone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a medium- to strong-potency corticosteroid.

To use triamcinolone topical, apply the ointment, cream, or lotion sparingly in a thin film and rub it in gently. To use the lotion or aerosol (spray) on your scalp, part your hair, apply a small amount of the medicine on the affected area, and rub it in gently.

TRIAMCINOLONE (trye am SIN oh lone) is a corticosteroid. It is used to reduce swelling and ulcers in the mouth. It helps treat and relieve mouth sores that are not caused by herpes.

Triamcinolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid. It imitates natural steroid hormones your body produces. It helps to adjust your immune system when it overreacts. Your doctor might prescribe this medication for allergic or immune-related conditions, such as eczema, psoriasis, allergies, and mouth ulcers.

A course of treatment for seven days is usually sufficient. If your symptoms have not improved after this time (or if they get worse), speak again with your doctor for further advice. Topical corticosteroids like triamcinolone should not be used for long periods of time or on large areas of the body.

How to use Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. Use this medication only on the skin. Do not use it on the face, groin, or underarms unless directed to do so by your doctor. Wash and dry your hands.

He and his co-workers found that in 28 of 30 patients the 0.01% triamcinolone was as effective or more effective than the 1% hydrocortisone, that is, in 10 of 30 the 0.01% triamcinolone was superior; in 18 of 30 the lotions were equally effective.

Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream is available in 0.1% strengths in 15, 30 and 80 g tubes and is applied two to four times a day, depending on the doctor’s prescription. After Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream is applied, the affected area should not be covered unless directed by a doctor.

The topical steroid should always be applied to moist skin, after a bath or applying moisturiser. Leave about 30 minutes between moisturiser and steroid.
