Use your Bluebird® American Express® Prepaid Debit Card at ATMs that permit American Express transactions within the United States and Puerto Rico, including ATMs at Walmart stores.

There is no direct way to cash out an American Express gift card. You cannot return an American Express gift card for cash or use it at an ATM or store checkout to withdraw cash, according to the terms and conditions for American Express gift cards.

Supported Cards with Cash App Cash App supports debit and credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Most government-enabled prepaid cards are also supported, but depositing to these cards does not work. ATM cards, Paypal, and business debit cards are not supported at this time.

American Express Gift Cards, Business Gift Cards, the Outdoor Reward Card or the Gas Rewards Card may be used virtually anywhere in the US that accept American Express®Cards. These products may not be used at ATMs or for Recurring Billing.

You can use your American Express card at Walmart and Walmart.com. If you want to earn elevated rewards on your purchases, consider checking with your card provider first. Rewards credit cards can be particularly good choices at Walmart.

Not all AmEx cards earn Membership Rewards, however. The issuer has several cards that pay rewards in cash back rather than points. Options for using points include booking travel, redeeming for statement credit or gift cards or transferring them to partner airline or hotel loyalty programs.

There’s no doubt that the welcome bonus of 100,000 Membership Rewards points from The Platinum Card® from American Express is a huge deal. 100,000 points are worth $2,200 per our valuations, and you can use them in a variety of different ways.

Depending on the credit card, you can typically earn anywhere from 1 point to 5 points per dollar spent on eligible purchases. For example, consider the American Express® Gold Card,1 which offers: 4X points at restaurants worldwide.

Using Membership Rewards points for hotel stays is rarely going to be an outstanding value. Whether it’s a decent option or a complete waste of your hard-earned points depends on whether you’re targeting luxury or affordable hotels and what program you use to book.
