“The Masters” Brush Cleaner & Preserver was designed for art brushes covered in oil and acrylic paints, so it’s excellent for cleaning waxy and oily makeup out of brushes…but it doesn’t disinfect them.

Masters Brush Cleaner and preserver is a non-toxic compound suitable for removing wet oil paint, dry oil paint, and watercolour and acrylic stains on your brushes. Rinse and repeat as necessary until your brush is clean.

Mild shampoos like castile soap or baby shampoo can effectively remove dirt and grime from brush bristles. Another popular homemade cleanser for dirty brushes is a mixture of dish soap and olive oil: The dish soap can kill germs, while the oil can effectively break down any built-up product in the brush.

How To Use “The Masters”® Brush Cleaner ​For Cleaning

1. Wipe brush to remove excess paint.
2. Wet brush and/or “The Masters”® with water.
3. Swirl brush in “The Masters”® and work into a lather.
4. Rinse with clean water.
5. Repeat if necessary until brush is clean (lather will be white).

For personal use, you should disinfect your brushes with rubbing alcohol at least once a month. In order to clean makeup brushes using rubbing alcohol, you can dip the brushes into the alcohol, spray the brushes with alcohol, and clean the handle using alcohol.

What’s the right way to clean makeup brushes?

1. Wet the bristles with lukewarm water.
2. Place a drop of your cleanser of choice into the palm of your clean hand.
3. Gently massage the tips of the bristles in your palm.
4. Rinse the bristles thoroughly.
5. Squeeze out the excess moisture with a clean towel.

The best way to do this, is to use rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and wipe round the ferrule and handle. After you’ve cleansed your brushes, to further disinfect and ensure they are thoroughly sterilised, you can also spray the rubbing alcohol or 70% isopropyl alcohol over the bristles.

How to Clean a Beautyblender

1. Put the blenders into a bowl or container with some warm water and let them absorb it.
2. Squeeze the water out, leaving them damp enough to glide over the cleanser.
3. Swirl them into the cleanser and smother them with the cleanser goodness.
