India's Union Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Thursday that the government has ordered the CBI to investigate the Cambridge Analytica data breach case over suspicions of illegally obtaining data from Indians.

"the first incident was reports of a data breach from Facebook, where it was reported that the number of their users had been compromised by Cambridge Analytica."

Prasad also said that Facebook cited the case with "cambridge analytica" and "it was a case of breach of trust". they promised to take various other measures to ensure that such a crime is not repeated.
