After Deadpool & Wolverine, Channing Tatum's Gambit might just have a chance to return to the MCU, thanks to a clever setup by Ryan Reynolds.
Channing Tatum CONFIRMED to be in talks with Kevin Feige to portray Gambit in the MCU
Ryan Reynolds' billion-dollar grossing movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, had something for everyone. While giving Marvel fans the dream team-up of the Merc with a Mouth and the brooding adamantium claw-wielding mutant, it also gave fans an unforgettable trip down memory lane. And for others like Channing Tatum fans, it fulfilled their sincere dreams of seeing the Magic Mike star as Gambit.
Starring the Cajun-speaking mutant, Tatum did a brilliant job bringing the character to life. Although his role was a cameo, fans have been hoping to see him again, possibly in his own standalone film. And they might just do that!
While Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool & Wolverine featured a large number of cameos and surprise appearances, one of the film's standout scenes was when Channing Tatum made an appearance as Gambit. Originally slated to play the kinetic-energy-manipulating mutant since 2006, the actor has harbored a deep love for the character but has failed to land his own film or even a cameo (until now!).
