ChatGPT Plus will cost users $20 (~Rs 1,600) a month and will include benefits such as a faster response time, access to the bot even during peak hours, and early access to new features and improvements. This could be a blessing for many as ChatGPT's servers have been hit by heavy usage recently. To recall, ChatGPT's paid version was recently rumored to cost $42 a month, which would have been an expensive deal.
The paid tier is now available to people in the US and those who are part of the waiting list will receive their invites in the coming weeks. Users in India and other regions have to wait for a while as access to ChatGPT Plus will be available for them soon.
And if you're worried about losing access to ChatGPT's free version, OpenAI has made sure that free access will remain. OpenAI plans to further expand ChatGPT's capabilities and further refine it based on user feedback. In a blog post, OpenAI said: "We will also be launching (the ChatGPT API waiting list) soon, and we are actively exploring options for cheaper plans, business plans and data packages for more availability."
