When you play Core Keeper, you will quickly notice how important it is to have a light source at all times. But torches burn out quickly, and making them can be a pain. Fortunately, there is a better light source you can create…

How to use a small lantern in Core Keeper

The first thing you need to do when you start a new game in Core Keeper is to craft a flashlight with 1 piece of wood. You'll quickly learn to keep a steady supply of flashlights at all times, but you may wonder if this is really the only light source you can use. Well, there is one other thing that you will be able to use early in the game – a lantern.

The lantern recipe requires 5 slime and 5 copper bars. Both of these are fairly easy to come by in the early game – slime is dropped by most basic enemies, while copper bars can be easily crafted with a furnace.

After the glimmer that some walls will do, you should be able to dig up some ore, with copper being fairly common. To turn copper ore into copper bars, you need to craft a furnace at a crafting table.
