Luca Guadagnino was too scared to ask Daniel Craig to take the role in Queer, but thanks to a confident agent, the actor quickly joined the project.

While the world knows Daniel Craig for his iconic portrayal of James Bond, the actor also has several other acclaimed films under his belt. He is currently in Venice presenting his upcoming film Queer with Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino.

But while the actor's presence in the film marks a major shift from his previous projects, he almost missed out on being a part of it. The reason was that Guadagnino was too scared to ask Craig to be a part of the film.

Based on William S. Burroughs' 1985 short novel of the same name, Queer is an upcoming historical romance drama. In the film, Daniel Craig will play the role of an outcast American expat who tangles with a younger man played by Drew Starkey. Not only this, but the film is also said to feature several love scenes with the duo, making it one of Craig's most erotic roles to date.
