To say that the announcement of Death Stranding 2 surprised me and many others during the PlayStation State of Play event is an understatement. The first game, while divisive, was for the most part a complete cinematic experience. However, it seems that creator Hideo Kojima has more ideas that he wants to realize. The game is called Death Stranding 2L On the Beach, and judging by the brand new trailer, it's still as mysterious and eerie as the first game. This time, the game will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 5 in 2025.
It seems that after the end of Death Stranding, Lea Seydoux's Fragile has spawned a new civilian faction. Called Drawbridge, they aim to reconnect to a brand new destination, which appears to be Mexico and the surrounding regions of the Americas. The game takes place several years after Sam goes AWOL in Death Stranding with Louise.
After America rejoined, the UCA withdrew, leaving most of the world unaffiliated. It also removed the need for carriers. That's when Fragile set up Drawbridge to continue the work with UCA and reconnect UCA to the rest of the sites.
