Being around Sheldon Cooper is no easy task. Besides being a walking and talking encyclopedia, the character would really test anyone's patience. In this regard, Meemaw would be the perfect cornerstone for support; But in Young Sheldon there is another character who has shown nothing but an uncanny ability to tolerate the young prodigy's annoying quirks.

The character in question would be Dr. Grant Linkletter, played by the talented Ed Begley Jr. In the show, Linkletter treated Iain Armitage's character with godlike patience that even Meemaw was not capable of.

Young Sheldon, like a precursor to The Big Bang Theory, dives into Sheldon Cooper's formative years. It gives the audience a clear childhood vision of the character they know and love. Since premiering in 2018, the show has expanded Sheldon Cooper's universe and has attempted to fill in the storylines that were left wide open in the original sitcom. Filling Jim Parsons' shoes is no easy feat, but Iain Armitage looks set to be a worthy successor in the prequel.
