There are many ways for developers to inform players about different aspects of the game, and damage color is one of them. There are several types of damage that a Diablo 4 player can deal to enemies. Unfortunately, instead of telling you what kind of damage the enemies took from your attack, it shows damage numbers in different colors. In this article we will learn what these different damage colors mean in Diablo 4.

How damage works in Diablo IV

You can deal four types of damage in Diablo 4, each designated by a different color. These colors help visualize the damage you create in the game. Additionally, it also helps to mini-max your gears to produce more damage. These attacks in the game are divided into four different damage colors – white, yellow, blue and orange.

The white damage color in the game is the base damage that players take. This is the most common damage type and refers to the total damage your weapons can put out against an enemy. These have no special conditions and usually come out on standard encounters.

The yellow damage color in Diablo 4 is tied to critical damage. Critical Damage is a special attack that increases your base damage output tenfold. This attack type is randomized and depends on your critical attack stat.
