In this day and age, Matt Damon is easily considered one of the greatest contributors to the entertainment industry of all time, having given the movies some of the best work ever. While his Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy and BAFTA nods and wins speak for themselves to emphasize his excellence, it might as well be accepted that he was made for this profession.
But while Damon had his sights set on becoming an actor from the start, his mother didn't always like this domain for him. If anything, she was anything but proud when the actor confessed to her his egomaniacal reason for choosing acting as his career. In fact, if it hadn't been for Ben Affleck, Damon's mom might never have agreed to it!
With 95 nods and 27 major award wins along with the acting credits to his name, Matt Damon might as well be considered one of the most successful contributors to the Hollywood film industry ever. Although the early stages of his life saw him pitching for the basketball league, his father's disapproval of becoming a part of the NBA made him switch to acting.
