The January 2016 United States blizzard was a crippling and historic blizzard that produced up to 3 ft (91 cm) of snow in parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States from January 22–24, 2016. Approximately 103 million people were affected by the storm, with 33 million people placed under blizzard warnings.

November 2021 to October 2022. Winter temperatures will be below normal, on average, with the coldest periods in mid- and late December, throughout much of January, and in early to mid-February. Snowfall will be near normal, with the best chances for snow in mid- to late January and early to mid-February.

In Greenville, the summers are hot and muggy, the winters are cold, and it is wet and partly cloudy year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 34°F to 89°F and is rarely below 22°F or above 96°F.

New Jersey’s biggest one-day snowfall record is believed to be 30 inches, reported in Sussex County on Jan. 26, 1905.

The Blizzard of 1996 was a severe nor’easter that paralyzed the United States East Coast with up to 4 feet (1.2 m) of wind-driven snow from January 6 to January 8, 1996.

Raise your hand if you remember Greenville’s great snowfall of 1988. ICYMI (or were just a wee little snowflake at the time), here’s what happened: On Jan. 7, Greenvillians woke up to a snowstorm, which lasted for two days, bringing in 12 inches of fresh powder in total. These cooler temperatures have us daydreaming back to seeing snow!

The storm’s widespread effects paralyzed travel across the eastern United States as it produced more than 20 in (51 cm) of snow across a large area along the Appalachian Mountains.

Early on January 24, as the storm was leaving New England, the system began to become elongated, as a secondary low developed to the southwest of the storm’s central low. On January 25, the blizzard left the East Coast of the United States; on the same day, the system was named Karin by the University of Berlin.

Significant coastal flooding took place in Delaware and New Jersey. The first, and most severe, round of flooding took place during the morning of January 23. A second round took place after the storm’s passage on the morning of January 24, concurrent with high tide.
