The environmental impact of pig farming is mainly driven by the spread of feces and waste to surrounding neighborhoods, polluting air and water with toxic waste particles. Pig waste also contributes to groundwater pollution in the forms of groundwater seepage and waste spray into neighboring areas with sprinklers.

U.S. per capita pork consumption is forecast to be 52.1 pounds in 2020. Unlike cows and sheep, pigs are not ruminants, which means they produce a lot less methane, but thanks to intensive farming operations, pork has the third-highest environmental impact among meats.

The main direct environmental impact of pig production is related to the manure produced. High-density pig production can release excessive amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus into the environment, and the high doses of copper and zinc fed to pigs to promote growth eventually accumulate in the soil.

Due to their unnaturally large size and lack of space to move around, factory farmed pigs often develop arthritis and become unable to walk or stand on their own. They can become trapped in their own waste in dirty feedlots, fostering the spread of pathogens and rampant disease.

Cows and pigs, animals of great weight, are lifted from the floor by their rear legs, causing them tears and breaks. After that, they are slaughtered by the killers, their trembling bodies can be extended endless minutes.

Shorter people also appear to have longer average lifespans. The authors suggest that the differences in longevity between the sexes is due to their height differences because men average about 8.0% taller than women and have a 7.9% lower life expectancy at birth.

The study, published in the Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, showed that life expectancy for obese men and women was 4.2 and 3.5 years shorter respectively than people in the entire healthy BMI weight range. The difference for underweight men and women was 4.3 (men) and 4.5 (women) years.

Researchers found that at 70 years old, the taller men were expected to live approximately 2 years less than those who were shorter. During the years when study participants were born, the average height for men in the village was around 5’2″.

Both the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children and the Wide Range Achievement Test were found to significantly correlate with height. However, change in height was found not to be correlated with IQ score. In 2000 another study found a similar correlation.

Other studies have also found that tall (and obese) men are at increased risk of developing aggressive forms of prostate cancer, and that tall women are more likely to develop melanoma, as well as breast, ovarian, endometrial and colon cancer.

4. You’re tall. A study by Princeton University says that taller people earn more because they are smarter. This is backed by another study that says a 6-foot-tall person earns, on average, nearly $166,000 more during a 30-year career span than someone who is 5 feet 5 inches, regardless of gender, age, and weight.

Price, a professor at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at University College London, and colleagues, tested 33 “healthy and neurologically normal” adolescents aged 12 to 16. Their IQ scores ranged from 77 to 135, with an average score of 112.

Intelligence was strongly linked to students’ math achievement, but only in the initial development of competence in the subject. Motivation and study skills turned out to be more important factors in terms of students’ growth (their learning curve or ability to learn) in math.

An average IQ score is 85–114; 144 or above is considered genius-level.
