In the television series, Sophia is abused by her father Ed, as is Carol. After Ed’s death and the departure from the Atlanta camp, Sophia goes missing near the Greene farm and her rescue becomes the driving force of the first half of season 2.

The death of Sophia Peletier is a major incident in “Pretty Much Dead Already”, largely affecting the themes of the episode. After the group has shot the walkers housed in Hershel Greene’s barn, Sophia appears from the barn as a walker, much to the groups’ dismay.

Lori discovered she was pregnant with Shane’s baby but she vowed that Rick would be the only true father of her children. Despite the tension that arose after Shane’s death, Rick led the group of survivors to an abandoned prison. There was an assumption that the walker consumed Lori, and that was later confirmed.

Atlanta
Sophia Peletier is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC’s The Walking Dead. She is the daughter of Ed and Carol Peletier. During the initial outbreak, Carol, Ed, and Sophia evacuated to Atlanta for safety, but ended up joining a camp of survivors.

Death. While Sophia is trying to find her way back to the group, she is attacked and bitten on the left shoulder by a walker and either dies of the infection or blood loss. Eventually, a zombified Sophia is found by Otis and is put into Hershel’s barn.

Judith Grimes, also known as “Judy”, is a character first encountered in Issue 39 of Image Comics’ The Walking Dead. She is the newborn daughter of Lori Grimes and Shane, the half-sister of Carl, and the adoptive daughter of Rick.

In the second season, Carl retains his shyness, but he develops a bolder personality and is seen to be less frightened of the world in response to the many ordeals he has experienced.

Sophia is separated from Carol, and is discovered by two walkers. She runs away from them, with Eliza’s doll in her arms. Rick runs after her and carries her to a safe spot in the nearby woods so he could go and kill the walkers. He does so successfully, but when he comes back, Sophia is nowhere to be found.

Carl responds that it’s impossible. They have a little fight, but Carl apologizes to her. During Lori’s childbirth, Carl is being babysat by Carol, which results in him spending lots of time with Sophia. Later on, Carol asks Lori if she would take care of Sophia if she were to die.
