It is one of only four blocks that will give off lasting light if it is placed underwater, the others being Jack o’ Lanterns, glowstone, and a redstone lamp.

The Science behind it Phosphors are special substances that emit light when excited by radiation. The water glows because the UV light reacted with phosphors in the tonic water and highlighter dye.

Directions

1. Fill the container with the water.
2. Pop off the back of the highlighter and pull out the ink soaked felt that is inside.
3. Put the highlighter felt under the water and squeeze it until the water is stained with the highlighter ink.
4. Turn off the lights, place a flashlight under the jar, and watch the water glow!

The crafting recipe for glowstone blocks has been changed from 9 glowstone dust to 4. Each glowstone block now drops 2-4 glowstone dust when broken. Glowstone dust can now be brewed in a water bottle to create a thick potion. Glowstone dust now strengthens the new potion of Leaping.

It mines fastest with a sword of any type. in the 1.0. 0/RC2 update, Glowstone returned to being a glass type block. Quote from wiki.

While hostile mobs can theoretically spawn on glowstone or jack-o-lanterns (because they’re opaque and not half-blocks), But glowstone is no longer an opaque-type block.

Mobs can spawn on any opaque, solid block – including chests.

IIRC, they can’t break stone, cobblestone, moss stone, obsidian, Iron, Gold, or Diamond, and I’m not sure on the last 3. Check the wiki.

Using Fortune on an axe will help you gather more items, such as seeds and saplings. You will also increase the total amount of drops you can gather while farming. It will also increase the drop chances of an apple. Fortune might not be all that useful on an axe, but it definitely has some uses.

Do looting and fortune give more xp? No. There is no mechanic in vanilla Minecraft that changes the amount of XP you get.

Fortune can only work on ores that don’t need smelting to get what they have. This means that it does not work on Netherite, iron or gold (Overworld gold, nether gold will work with fortune).

Enchantments. ↑ ab Fortune and Silk Touch are mutually exclusive.

And sadly, for me it seems that fortune 3 on either a hoe OR pick doesn’t affect crop output.
