An anime film titled Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home was released in Japanese theaters on March 30, 2013, featuring an original storyline.

Hanasaku Iroha isn’t as good as it could have been, but that doesn’t make it bad. If one is able to tolerate the tangents in the storyline then it really is a pretty decent show at its core, and it’s a fairly good depiction of working life in a hotel.

Hanasakeru Seishounen is one of those hidden Shoujo series that is actually very good. It took the meaning of Shoujo to another level, exploiting all the factors and providing the utmost of entertainment. This show seems underrated because it’s such a masterpiece.

But, what I wasn’t prepared for, was the way in which the anime just shoved reality in my face, which is especially unique to anime, because of Japanese culture and traditions.

The story follows Ohana Matsumae who ends up moving away from the city to work at the Kissuiso hot spring inn in the country. The episodes were released on six DVD and Blu-ray volumes by Pony Canyon between July 20 and November 16, 2011.

Hanasaku Iroha centers around Ohana Matsumae, a 16-year-old living in Tokyo, who is left in the care of her estranged grandmother, following her mother’s elopement with her boyfriend. Ohana arrives at her grandmother’s country estate to realize she is the owner of a Taishō period hot spring inn called Kissuisō.

Ohana is an energetic and optimistic 16-year-old girl and the protagonist of Hanasaku Iroha. She is sent to live at her estranged grandmother’s hot spring inn, Kissuisō, after her mother elopes with her boyfriend to evade his debt.
