Like all other parts of the world, snowfall in India is synonymous with bewitching sceneries, often seen in wallpapers and calendars. But if you really want to experience the same, the best snow season in India is during the winter months of December to February.

Assuming fog is simply air humidity around the saturation point, which is when it condenses into fine droplets and forms clouds or fog at ground level (if I remember my school lessons correctly), then it won’t harm you.

But why is NW India, more specifically the Indo-Gangetic Plain region susceptible to dense fog of this scale? Meteorologists explain its mainly due to four reasons– low winds, low temperatures, availability of moisture and pollution particles which act as surface for condensation.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the foggiest place in the world, no less North America, is this spot off the island of Newfoundland, Canada, where the chilly Labrador current from the north meets up with the much warmer Gulf Stream from the south, creating 206 foggy days per year.
