Dragon Ball Super brought smiles back to anime fans. After Dragon Ball Z, several attempts were made to extend the franchise, but all projects failed. But DBS started well by bringing gods into the plot. But Toyotarou and Toriyama had a surprise in store for fans. After the first couple of arcs, they brought back Future Trunks in one of the most horrific events.
Everyone was surprised to see that it was Goku who destroyed Future Trunks' universe. But later it was revealed to be Zamasu, one of the gods in training. He took over Goku's body and became Goku Black. Although he was quite the threat, his first draft revealed him to be quite the opposite.
Goku Black and Zamasu were never meant to be much of a threat to the Saiyan warriors. Although they were the same individual, they belonged to different timelines. They terrorized Future Trunks' planet, killed Future Bulma, and even fought on par with Goku and Vegeta. None of these things were planned. When Toyotarou first revealed Akira Toriyama's draft, he was shocked to see a god so weak.
