Frieza is Dragon Ball's Hitler, whose father took over the Saiyans and tamed them to do his bidding. Originally, the Saiyans were a warrior race that once inhabited the planet Sadala and later the planet Vegeta.
Their self-imposed occupation was to completely exterminate other races inhabiting other planets and sell those planets to the highest bidder.
