According to a One Piece theory, Bonney will join the Straw Hat Pirates as the tenth member of the crew and Luffy will make her his apprentice.

When Luffy began his journey to become the Pirate King in One Piece, he was alone and he thought ten crew members would be the perfect number to help him achieve his dream. As the story progresses, he meets other characters who joined the Straw Hat team and now sail with him to fulfill their and Luffy's dreams.
However, there is still one more member that Luffy needs to appoint soon before the next stage of the final saga begins. Although Luffy has many potentially viable characters for the roster of the tenth Straw Hat Pirate, a One Piece theory claims that this position will be filled by none other than Jewelry Bonney, the newest ally of the crew.
The theory goes that Eiichiro Oda rescues her as the tenth Straw Hat Pirate, and she will play the role of an apprentice in the crew. She will be trained by Luffy as his next heir, who has now earned the title of Sea Emperor.
