Gamers continue to complain about the latest major expansion of Helldivers 2, accusing it of over-nerfing the weapons. It mostly applies to all fire-related weapons, which were among the most used in the past.
The situation has heated up to the point that even the CEO of the studio, Shams Jorjani, said on the official Discord server that he prefers the previous version of these weapons. Of course, when he made this statement he made it very clear that it was his personal opinion and not the studio's.
Despite being one of the most anticipated content updates by players who had asked for a major change from the studio, Escalation of Freedom was not what fans expected and made too many adjustments to weapons that affected the mission gameplay in many ways.
