The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always been a dominant force in the film industry, and that was the case until a few years ago. While it may have struggled to captivate audiences lately (although the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine seems more than promising), MCU entries are generally expected to pull in millions at the global box office.
While the reason for the recent lackluster performance may or may not be its own doing, experts believe that Disney has only one person to blame when it comes to one underperforming film: Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. And it seems the actress may be right in her criticism of Kevin Feige and the MCU's management after all.
Marvel's Black Widow may not have been as jaw-dropping a feat as its critical reviews suggested, but those who had been waiting for Scarlett Johansson's solo venture into the superhero universe were pleased. With the backstory of the regular character, Black Widow had enough fantastical elements to make it an interesting watch.
